Youth Paddling Camp at Kolob Reservoir - July 2024
Located on the West side of Zion National Park, Kolob Reservoir has beautiful primitive campsites. This is a great place for paddling, swimming and fishing.

About the event
This paddling camp is for youth ages 10-16 from Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. We will have 3 nights and 4 days at Kolob Reservoir in Southern Utah, 37 miles north of Springdale, Utah. The campground and lake are surrounded by beautiful forests with some hiking trails nearby that lead into the west side of Zion National Park.Â
Some of the skills and experiences the youth will be exposed to:
- Water recreation safety
- Paddling safety and basic paddling skills
- Fire starting and fire safety
- Leave No Trace outdoor stewardship principles
- Recreating Responsibly
- Basic camping skills
- Introduction to outdoor camp cooking
- Lake and land ecology and natural history
- Awareness of the importance of healthy diversity in human ecosystems and natural ecosystems
The cost of this adventure is only $200 per youth and includes all the food and the use of our tents. You just need to bring a sleeping bag (and sleeping pad if you want), your clothes and your personal items. We will send you more details and a suggested packing list after you register.
Some scholarships are available that pay half of the cost of $100. Email us at info@wildcanyon.org for more information about the scholarships or if you have questions about this camping adventure.Â
