Want to paddle in Glen Canyon below the dam to Lees Ferry and camp along the river bank, about 1000 feet below the rim of the canyon? You can bring your own kayak, paddle board or canoe or borrow one of ours. We will meet on Saturday, August 20 at the Lees Ferry Launch ramp at 1:30pm AZ time to unload gear and boats, park vehicles in the overnight parking lot and be ready for the 2:00pm backhaul.

We will be dropped off up river just below the dam, at about 3pm and then load our own gear on our kayaks, paddle boards, or canoes and start floating down river. People can travel together and camp together if you are new to the river or break off into smaller groups and be on your own. The Wild Canyon Discovery volunteers will probably camp at Ferry Swale Campsite, if there is room, which is about 4 miles below the dam.

Each person or small family group needs to bring all their own food and drinking water or a filter to filter river water for drinking. It is recommended to have 1 gallon per person per day. Each person needs food for dinner on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. There will be 11 miles to float and paddle on Sunday, which can be done in about 5 hours without stops.

After signing,up and paying for the backhaul, we will send you a registration with more information and a suggested packing list.
