Lake Powell Youth Paddling Camp - June 12-14, 2024 - Sold Out
This is a 3 day/ 2-night adventure for local youth ages 8-13 years old. We will be camping at the Wahweap Campground, paddling kayaks and paddle boards on Lake Powell.

About the event
Paddling camp for youth ages 8-13 from Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. We will spend 3 days and 2 nights learning to safely using kayaks and paddle boards at the Lake Powell. We will be camping at the Wahweap Campground near Page, AZ. The campground and lake are surrounded by beautiful red rocks and desert landscape with some hiking and walking trails nearby.
Some of the skills and experiences the youth will be exposed to:
- Water recreation safety
- Paddling safety and basic paddling skills
- Fire starting and fire safety
- Leave No Trace outdoor stewardship principles
- Basic camping skills
- Introduction to outdoor camp cooking
- Lake and land ecology and natural history
- Awareness of the importance of healthy diversity in human ecosystems and natural ecosystems
The cost of this adventure is only $150 per youth and includes all the food and the use of our tents. You just need to bring a sleeping bag (and sleeping pad if you want), your clothes and your personal items. We will send you more details and a suggested packing list after you register.

Transportation from Page to Wahweap at Lake Powell can be arranged if needed.
